The Position:
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Humanitarian Office Deputy Director, the Assistant Directorate Office provides overall administrative and operations support services, ensuring high quality of work, accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery.

Job Purpose:
The Intern will support the delivery of UNFPA mandate in all settings through administrative and logistical support to the Humanitarian Office.
You Would be Responsible For:
Providing effective support to the Deputy Director on achievement of the following results:
- Organizational support in event management and on-line meetings, including scheduling meetings and managing the Deputy Director’s calendar.
- Support in maintaining proper electronic filing system, including tracking incoming correspondences for the Deputy Director, logging outgoing correspondences, and ensuring proper and timely follow up with relevant colleagues.
- Assisting in preparation of data collection, research, preparing PowerPoint presentations, and editing documents.
- Other administrative support to HO operations as requested by the Deputy Director.
The key results have an impact on the execution of the HO Operations and administrative services in terms of quality and accuracy of work completed.
You Have:
Your Education
Applicants that are enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school at the time of application and during the internship; or have completed at least three/four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree in business administration, public administration, management, finance, human resources, information technology or a related field.
Your Experience:
· Excellent computer skills, fully conversant with Microsoft Office.
· Fluency in English. Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
· Some relevant experience in administration, finance, procurement, or office management

· High competency in the use of spreadsheets, i.e., Excel and Google Sheets.
· High ability to manage sensitive information in a discreet manner.
· Ability to think and work logically with attention to detail.
· Ability to analyse data from different sources.
· Initiative, sound judgment, and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members.

Learning Elements:
Upon completion of the assignment, and depending on its duration, the Intern should be able to:
Increase understanding of the UNFPA operation at the global levels though interaction with members of the Humanitarian Office.
Understand the UNFPA mandate.
Develop strong skills in front office and office managemet.
Learn UN technical language, working procedures, and coordination mechanisms.
Write and formulate substantive documents and analytical papers.
Networking with UNFPA staff members as part of the internship.
Work as a team member in a multicultural setting.
Financial Aspects:
Interns receive a stipend in line with UNFPA policy. The costs associated with an intern's participation in the programme must be assumed either by the nominating institution, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students, or by the students themselves, who will have to meet living expenses as well as make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel and other requirements. In addition, applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. Proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins.
