Who we are
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the world's largest international source of funding for population and reproductive health programmes. The Procurement Services Branch (PSB) provides low cost, high quality reproductive health commodities worldwide. It is located in Copenhagen, Denmark and services UNFPA offices, UN Agencies as well as Governments and NGOs. The PSB IT team supports UNFPA procurement business and infrastructure, the team also maintains a portal MyAccessRH.org and other intranet application surrounding procurement of reproductive health commodities.
Duties and Responsibilities to be done under supervision
- Develop front-end intranet websites using google site and google apps.
UNFPA uses google for messaging and collaboration. The intern will work under supervision on Google Site to migrate existing content from Microsoft Sharepoint intranet. The task requires creation of a Google site for UNFPA Procurement Services Branch, replicating and populating the content, hyperlink and design.
- Apply a new look and feel to the MyAccessRH.org website
A new design is being developed for the current MyAccessRH.org website that needs to be applied to the current Content Management System (CMS). The intern will work under supervision and guidance on translating the design from Images / design into HTML and CSS. The new design will be implemented on the Liferay CMS. All applications running on the Liferay system will require testing on correct display in the new design.
Working time: 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
Qualifications
- Fluency in English. English is the working language at PSB. Communications with country offices and external partners are made in Spanish.
- Completion of secondary education;
- University Student of business, economics, marketing, international development, communication, computer science, medicines or other relevant field;
- Interest in development issues;
- Good computer knowledge. Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and other software applications;
- Service minded and excellent communication skills – both written and oral;
- Positive attitude and a good team player;
- Ability to work independently (required supervision will be provided);
Conditions of the Internship:
Interns are considered gratis personnel. They are not staff members;
I Interns do not receive a salary or any other form of remuneration from UNFPA. UNFPA will pay a stipend of $90 per week/ $360 per month to cover transport and lunch costs. The costs associated with an intern's participation in the programme must be assumed either by the nominating institution, which may provide the required financial assistance to its students, or by the students themselves, who will have to meet living expenses as well as make their own arrangements for accommodation, travel and other requirements. In addition, applicants must have medical insurance for the duration of the internship. Proof of insurance will need to be submitted before the internship begins.

- Official letter from the University confirming enrollment in a graduate-level degree programme;
- Letter of endorsement from a faculty member who has worked with the student in the recent past and who is knowledgeable on the student’s performance;
- Complete and sign the UNFPA Application Form for Internships
- Copy of the proof of medical and life/accident insurance valid for the location in which the internship will be carried out.
- Proof of residency (Civil ID/Passport copy).
