Major duties and responsibilities
Working in the Humanitarian & Fragile Contexts Branch within the Programme Division, under the supervision of the Programme Officer/information management, the intern will provide support to the collection, analysis, and communication of humanitarian results.
Overall duties:
- Supporting the development and improvement of the Data Collection Tool for all emergency countries, with focus on quality assurance
- Drafting and designing two-pager Country Fact Sheets for all emergency countries, for advocacy and communication of results to our donors and partners
- Drafting Situation Reports for the Humanitarian Steering Committee to keep them informed at the onset of an emergency and UNFPA’s rapid response thereof
- Supporting the development of printed and online content, including the Humanitarian Newsletter
- Organizing humanitarian communication documentation including archiving
- Undertake any other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
● Academic background and knowledge in areas such as information management, communications, data analytics, graphic design, or journalism/media
● Experience in communications and working in international environment
● Fluency in English, working knowledge of another UN language desirable
● Knowledge and experience with Google Drive (google docs, sheets), data visualisation, and online design
● Ability to think and work logically with attention to detail
● Ability to write clearly and concisely
● Initiative, sound judgment and demonstrated ability to work harmoniously with staff members of different national and cultural backgrounds
